Launched as a small boutique in Notting Hill during the late 1990s, Sweaty Betty is now a global giant in the athleisure space, known for its power leggings, specialised yoga wear and seamless workout gear.

Blending everyday comfort with high-performance designs, its long-lasting and flattering activewear is beloved by generations of women (my mum, grandma and I are all fans). With nearly 30 years under its belt, making women feel and look good while exercising, the brand has grown a cult following.

From printed leggings to stylish loungewear, Sweaty Betty has always bridged the divide between gymwear and fashion. Now, it has debuted its first-ever trench coat. The ‘motion trench’ is designed to be waterproof with plenty of practical details – and it’s gone straight to the top of my spring wishlist. Elsewhere in the motion collection, check print and neutral cropped parkas similarly combine fashion and functionality.

The sportswear brand has also introduced a new ‘sand wash’ loungewear collection, characterised by muted tones, soft-touch designs and fashionable silhouettes (think tapered joggers, half-zip sweaters and all-in-one jumpsuits). Meanwhile, the new ‘explorer’ collection is an elevated take on athleisure – from side-stripe trousers to on-trend track-inspired zip-ups.

Sweaty Betty’s spring 2026 collection is a natural evolution for the brand – and one that is sure to be popular among its fashion-forward customers. Putting her stylish seal of approval on the new collection, author and How to Fail podcaster Elizabeth Day is fronting the spring capsule collection – a partnership that was born out of the broadcaster’s love for Sweaty Betty. Here’s everything you need to know about Sweaty Betty’s new motion trench coat to nail off-duty style.

(Sweaty Betty)

Sweaty Betty’s first trench coat is designed with the busy, working, always-moving woman in mind. As such, How to Fail podcaster, fiction author of The Party and journalist Elizabeth Day is arguably the perfect fit to front the campaign.

Available in three chic colourways – including navy, classic beige and on-trend check – the trench comes in inclusive sizing from XXS-XXL. Crafted from a 100 per cent waterproof material, the trench is cut into a classic double-breasted silhouette, complete with adjustable cuffs, a reversible tie belt at the waist and two side slip pockets.

Described as lightweight and breathable, the outerwear staple is a stylish but practical option for everyday wear.

These M&S spring jackets could pass for designer, but they start from just £30
