Veteran news anchor Norah O’Donnell’s time as a fill-in co-host on CBS Mornings has come to an end.
“I just want to say, full respect because I forgot how hard it is to get up in the morning,” she told her co-hosts in the studio Wednesday. “Thank you guys for helping me promote my new book.”
O’Donnell, who used to host CBS’ morning show with Gayle King and Charlie Rose, returned to her old role while she was in town to promote We the Women: The Hidden Heroes Who Shaped America, her new book that examines women’s roles in history.
She and her co-hosts celebrated the book climbing to No. 5 on Amazon’s new releases list after its debut.
O’Donnell, whose tenure as CBS Evening News anchor ended on Jan. 23, has remained at CBS News as a senior correspondent and 60 Minutes contributor.
