Philadelphia Eagles center Cam Jurgens has traveled to Colombia to undergo a range of treatments as he bids to finally cure his nagging back problem.

Jurgens, who successfully filled the void left by the retired Jason Kelce to help Philadelphia win the Super Bowl in 2024, underwent surgery to alleviate nerve pain in his back just nine days after their one-sided victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

The Eagles handed him a bumper new four-year, $68million contract extension within a matter of months, but the 26-year-old still struggled with the injury throughout the 2025 season and didn’t look anywhere near his usual self as a result.

With a full offseason ahead of him, Jurgens therefore jetted almost 2,500 miles to the Colombian city of Medellin this month for stem cell, cryotherapy and ozone therapy treatments that are offered by a company named bioXcellerator.

He shared a video of himself undergoing the treatments on social media and said: ‘We got 70 million stem cells here about to go in. I’m excited to get healthy and get ready for this next season so that’s why I’m down here.

‘I’m excited for the healing and getting better. The experience down here has been incredible.’

Jurgens was also seen signing ‘Go Birds’ on an IV bag containing the stem cells he was injected with.

While it has a corporate office in Arizona, bioXcellerator’s treatment center is based in Colombia due to strict rules surrounding stem-cell treatments in the US.

Such procedures are highly regulated on US soil, with specific FDA-approved stem-cell treatments only permitted for diseases like leukemia, lymphoma and immune system disorders.

Jurgens will hope the treatment fixes his long-running back issue and brings him back to full health ahead of a crucial 2026 season for the now ex-champion Eagles.

The former second-round draft pick has a new offensive line coach come in as Chris Kuper prepares to take over from Jeff Stoutland, who has left the team after 13 years.
