Good omens for Brighton
Right, I think we should get back to talking about the game that we are actually covering, don’t you?
We have spoken about Brighton’s poor form already, and I imagine that the travelling fans heading to Anfield right now won’t be in the most confident mood.
But I have a stat that may just put a pep in their step as they go through the turnstiles.
Brighton have won their last three FA Cup fourth round ties, beating a Premier League side in each season.
Indeed, since they were promoted to the Premier League in 2017, they’ve reached the fifth round six times, with only Man City (8) and Man Utd (7) doing so more often since 2017-18.
Remember, they knocked out Manchester United at Old Trafford in the last round – they are not scared of so-called big grounds.
They will be hoping to repeat the feat here.
