The iconic Bay Area punk rock band Green Day has never been a group to shy away from politics. During a Super Bowl pre-party, the band took aim at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

The band, consisting of members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, publicly criticized the agency and the Trump administration while performing in San Francisco at The FanDuel Party Powered by Spotify 2026.

It should come as no surprise as the band has been vocally against the Trump administration for over a decade. Additionally, one of the group’s most popular albums, 2004’s ‘American Idiot’, served as a critique of American society and politics under the presidency of George W. Bush.

So at the bash in the Bay Area, the Oakland-based band advised and encouraged ICE agents around the country to resign.

‘Quit your s**tty a** job,’ said Armstrong – who was met with cheers from the crowd.

‘Quit that s**tty job you have. Because when this is over, and it will be over at some point in time, [Homeland Security Secretary] Kristi Noem, [White House advisor] Stephen Miller, [Vice President] JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna drop you like a bad f**king habit. Come on this side of the line.’

At a different point of the show, Armstrong also changed the lyrics of one of their songs off ‘American Idiot’ to reference Jeffrey Epstein.

Instead of singing the line in the song ‘Holiday’ that goes ‘the representative from California has the floor,’ Armstrong sang ‘the representative from Epstein Island…’

All this comes before the punk rockers are set to perform at the Super Bowl LX Opening Ceremony just before the Patriots and Seahawks take the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

It’s possible that the band will use their platform to speak out against the White House once again.

Trump has previously spoken out against having the band performing, as well as the Super Bowl Halftime Show act: Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny.

‘I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible,’ Trump told the New York Post.

Over the course of the past month, ICE agents have been sweeping through cities under the guise of cracking down on illegal immigration. In the process, officers have killed a pair of American citizens – Renee Good and Alex Pretti – leading to widespread condemnation.
