Lachie Neale was due to appear for a live show on the Sunshine Coast on Friday alongside his team-mate Dayne Zorko.

However, event has now been postponed until March, and the former Brisbane Lions captain is no longer set to appear at the rescheduled Q&A.

The show, entitled ‘Lions Three-Peat Quest’ presented by Footy Feast Panel Show, was set to take place on Friday, January 30, at Pier 33 in Mooloolaba.

However, organisers told this masthead that they have chosen to postpone the event to Thursday, March 19, due to ticket sales.

Event organisers also confirmed that Neale will no longer appear at the rescheduled show, which is due to take place during the Lions’ bye week in Round Two. Zorko will still be present for the rearranged show.

The show was set to provide Brisbane fans with a ‘unique and unprecedented insight into the 2026 pre-season’ and shed light on the club’s ‘2025 premiership and the personal journeys of Lachie and Dayne’.

‘We will go inside the inner sanctum and find out how the 2026 pre-season has unfolded,’ the advertisement for the show states.

‘Previously undisclosed tales will be told, thousands of laughs will be had, giving you a truly extraordinary experience and stories never heard before. All the hard-hitting topics will be explored in this one-of-a-kind experience.’

Organisers state on the show’s advertisement that members of the audience would also be able to ask the dual premiership winners questions. It adds that attendees also have the chance to meet the players, see their Premiership medals and take photos with the players.

Tickets are still on sale for the rescheduled live event. Footy Feast have notified ticket holders of the change in date and have also offered refund options.

The Lions have taken their pre-season north this year, with the club travelling to the Sunshine Coast to complete a series of training sessions. They are also due to participate in a series of community events, with the squad visiting schools and completing open training sessions.

Neale, meanwhile, announced at the beginning of January that he would be stepping down as the Lions’ captain for the upcoming season, following the breakdown of his marriage with his wife Julie. The dual Brownlow Medallist also confirmed that he and his wife Julie had separated.

In December, speculation had begun to mount that the couple were experiencing some difficulties in their relationship. Julie then took to social media to claim that she had been ‘betrayed in the most unimaginable way’.

‘I want to make it very clear that I am not “working through” anything,’ she wrote. ‘I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.’

Her friend, Tess Crosley, has found herself at the centre of the marriage saga, with Julie also demanding that Tess delete pictures of herself, Lachie, Tess’ husband Ben and Julie celebrating the Lions’ premiership victory last September.

In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Julie told Tess: ‘Take these down, you idiot, you’re embarrassing yourself.’

Julie has since moved back to her home in Western Australia with the couple’s children. She appears to have been enjoying the summer with her friends, and this week, was pictured at the Australian Open, watching as Alex de Minaur was knocked out in the quarter-finals by Carlos Alcaraz.

She told The Herald Sun: ‘The last few months have been a lot, but being back in Perth with family has really helped me reset for 2026.

‘I’m loving being back in Melbourne and watching another sport.’

Lachie has since moved out of the couple’s $2.43million marital home and has been living in an apartment in Brisbane. Last week, a ‘for sale’ sign appeared outside the couple’s stunning five-bedroom Seven Hills house, which was once considered their ‘forever home’.

The Lions midfielder’s contract at the club is set to expire at the end of the 2026 season, with Neale yet to announce whether he will stay on at the club or move elsewhere.
