A bombshell report has revealed that Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams coaches nearly came to blows in an elevator over a joke made about Cooper Kupp.

Kupp left the Rams at the end of last season after being ruthlessly cut by Sean McVay, despite being adored by Los Angeles fans and winning a Super Bowl there.

The wide receiver ended up signing for Seattle and had the last laugh on Sunday night when the Seahawks beat the Rams in the NFC Championship game and booked their Super Bowl slot.

That was not the first meeting between the two teams this season. After the Rams won the first meeting against their divisional rivals on November 16, they played a thrilling game at Seattle’s Lumen Field in Week 16.

During that contest, a 38-37 win for the Seahawks, Kupp fumbled a red-zone pass in the first half that killed a Seattle drive.

But all hell broke loose as coaches from both teams got in an elevator to go from the upper deck of Seattle’s stadium back to field level at halftime.

‘The witnesses said several Rams assistants were discussing the fumble in question as they neared the elevator,’ The Athletic’s Mike Silver wrote.

‘One offensive coach asked which Seattle player had been responsible, and when another replied that it was Kupp, the coach snickered as though he expected the answer.’

That was overheard by the Seahawks’ outside linebackers coach Chris Partridge and his ‘enraged response caused Rams defensive pass rush coordinator Drew Wilkins to yell back at him.’

It’s then claimed Partridge had to be held back by other members of the Seahawks coaching staff to avoid the incident escalating.

News of the incident is said to have spread to the Seahawks locker room and reportedly fueled their thrilling win that day.

‘It was kind of a thing in our locker room during halftime,’ one Seahawks player said.

But they once again hold the bragging rights over their NFC West rivals after Sunday’s 31-27 win that punched their ticket to the Super Bowl in San Francisco.

Kupp scored a touchdown on Sunday to stick it to McVay while his fellow wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba stole the show as he continued his remarkable season.
