  • Andreas Skov Olsen is set to make his debut against Dundee this Sunday having joined the club from Wolfsburg this week, and the manager believes he will hit the ground running.
  • Rohl’s comments come after watching his side pass up several gilt-edged chances in Thursday’s Europa League win over Ludogorets.
  • The manager is happy with his side’s progress of late, having racked up seven victories in all competitions.

Rangers boss Danny Rohl believes the introduction of Andreas Skov Olsen will help his team discover a lethal touch in front of goal.

Rohl’s side beat Ludogorets 1-0 at Ibrox in the Europa League, but were still knocked out of the competition as results elsewhere conspired against them.

A solitary first-half goal from Mohamed Diomande was enough to secure Rohl’s first European victory as Rangers manager.

But the team lacked a killer instinct and were guilty of wasting several more chances in the second half which would have made things more emphatic against the Bulgarian champions.

Skov Olsen is set to be unleashed against Dundee on Sunday, and Rohl insists the Danish winger will provide an injection of firepower as Rangers look to sharpen up for the title run-in.

‘We created some good moments, but it’s this final calmness on the ball (that we miss),’ said Rohl. ‘But this is something that hopefully Skov helps us with very soon.

‘He is a player who can be a good part, I saw this already during the week. It is great that he will be available for us on Sunday.

‘But, in general, I see a big, big step forward from our performance. I think there’s a reason why we took a lot of wins and a lot of clean sheets.

‘Seven wins in a row in all competitions is fantastic. We have to be hungry for more, especially looking forward to Sunday. We have to be on the front foot again.

‘We gave some moments to the opponent, which I don’t like. In general, there’s been a lot of clean sheets since I’ve been here and that’s a good feeling.

‘Of course, and this is part of my job, I will not overlook the chances from the opponent, because we always have minimum one save from our great goalkeeper at the moment to keep us in the game.

‘That’s what we have to minimise. But this is what I can say from my experience, even in Munich we had with (Manuel) Neuer, a goalkeeper who gives us sometimes this extra save, and then it looks always easy.’

Rangers have now been eliminated as they head into next week’s final Europa League clash of the season away to Porto.

But all attention now turns back to the domestic front, with Dundee set to visit Ibrox while title rivals Hearts and Celtic do battle at Tynecastle.

Insisting he will pay no attention to what others do, the Rangers boss said: ‘I look just to ourselves, if we do our homework until the end of the season, we have a big chance.

‘The teams around us can do what they want. We focus on our own and we take the wins, then we can smile at the end of the season.

‘We have good momentum. The first win in Europe is good for us as it keeps this momentum. Seven wins in a row, which is fantastic.

‘Also, from the last nine games, six clean sheets as well. This is great. But I will not close my eyes and say everything was nice. We still have to improve.

‘We have to demand of ourselves high standards. We have to deliver every three days now, 100 per cent, to take wins from now until the end of the season.’
