The FBI have launched an investigation into the death of late Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay, after bombshell reports detailed his substance addiction.
The Colts’ outspoken and sometimes controversial owner, who was rarely seen in public during the last NFL season, died at the age of 65 in May.
Over the years, Irsay had been open about his crippling addiction problems, admitting to going to rehab on multiple occasions for an alcoholism and painkiller addiction.
On Thursday afternoon, according to The Washington Post, it was revealed that the FBI are now investigating Irsay’s death as well as the recovery doctor who provided him with prescription pills and ketamine in the final months of his life.
The outlet claim that the agency are seeking records and information regarding Irsay’s death, along with his ‘substance (illegal and prescription) use’.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the Indianapolis Colts for comment.
