A ‘for sale’ sign has appeared in the front yard of Lachie and Julie Neale’s former marital home in Brisbane.

The AFL player confirmed at the start of the month that the couple had separated, with Julie moving back to her home state of Western Australia.

Tradies and cleaning staff were seen walking in and out of the $2.43million five-bedroom home on Wednesday.

Some were seen carrying boxes of cleaning materials, while others mopped the floors of the luxurious Seven Hills property, which the couple are understood to have bought back in 2022.

Once described as their ‘forever home’, the stunning Brisbane property boasts three bathrooms, a pool and an entertainment deck.

It appears some belongings had also been left in the property, with one individual, who was wearing a pair of Brisbane Lions shorts, seen removing a set of golf clubs from the five-bedroom home.

A glimpse into the garage showed that many of the couple’s belongings had already been removed, barring a wall-mounted vacuum cleaner and a refrigerator.

While the property has not officially been listed online yet, realtors McGrath Estate Agents have placed a ‘for sale’ sign on the front lawn.

Before moving into the luxurious property, which also has an alfresco dining space and a BBQ patio, Julie and Lachie – who have two children together, Piper and Freddie – had been living in nearby Coorparoo.

The couple, who were married in 2018 and moved that same year to Brisbane, are understood to have made a $1m profit on the sale of their previous home.

The Brisbane Lions star had previously gushed about their welcoming Seven Hills home.

‘I love this space,’ he said to The Courier Mail last year. ‘It’s a nice little sanctuary.

Speculation had emerged in December that they were experiencing a breakdown in their marriage, with Lachie announcing on January 3 that they had separated and that he was stepping down from his role as the Brisbane Lions captain.

However, Julie later confirmed that she had been ‘betrayed’ in the most unimaginable way.

‘I want to make it very clear that I am not “working through” anything,’ she wrote. ‘I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.

Her former friend Tess Crosley also became embroiled in the saga.

Julie took to Instagram to demand that Tess take down a photo of herself and her husband, Ben, celebrating the Lions’ premiership victory in September of last year.

‘Take these down, you idiot, you’re embarrassing yourself,’ Julie wrote on Instagram, but the post was later deleted.

Neale is understood to have moved into a bachelor pad at the start of the year, and was seen cutting a glum figure as he moved his belongings – which included a fridge, a set of weights and a microwave – into his new Brisbane apartment.

Following their separation, Julie has travelled back home to Western Australia. In December, she took to Instagram to celebrate her son Freddie’s first birthday, posting a series of pictures of herself and her bub on the social media platform.

Julie had also worked for TGI Sport, Lachie’s agents, but appears to have since cut ties with the agency. Earlier this week, the mum-of-two had announced that she had signed for top talent agency One DayDream.

‘We are so excited to be welcoming @jules_neale to the ODd roster,” the agency wrote on Instagram.

Rumours began to emerge in December that the Neales were working through some difficulties in their relationship. But Julie took to Instagram to clear up the rumours

‘Jules is a Perth-based talent with a strong presence across beauty, fashion and lifestyle. With a background in hair styling, she brings a polished yet effortless feel and a strong eye for detail to her content.’

Julie has also received plenty of support from many of her close friends, with the Western Australian hair stylist having published a reel on her Instagram at the start of the year, hosting a girls’ evening.

She invited some of her close friends to enjoy nibbles, drinks and a craft evening, where the group were seen cutting out images and pasting them onto a mood board.

‘This is your sign to get the girls together and manifest your 2026 vibes,’ she captioned the post.

The vision boards showcased their hopes for the coming year with a message on one of the boards reading: ‘I am stepping into the most successful decade of my life’.

Lachie’s contract at the Brisbane Lions will expire following the 2026 season and no decision has yet been made on whether he will stay with the club.

On January 3, the two-time Brownlow Medallist fronted the media to announce that he had ‘let his family down’ and would be stepping down as the Lions’ skipper.

‘I understand the interest in my personal life, but these are personal matters, and I won’t be answering any questions on that topic today,’ he began.

‘I can confirm, though, that with regret, Jules and I have now separated.

‘While I won’t go into specifics, I can say that I have let my family down, and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me — and for that, I am deeply sorry,’ Neale told reporters.

‘I accept that this is a consequence of my actions, and I need to focus on rebuilding that trust with Jules as the future wellbeing of our children remains our number one priority.

‘I’m extremely disappointed in myself, and I have put plans in place and measures in place to do the work on myself so that I can be the best version of myself moving forward.

‘Given the personal matters that I am currently working through, I have made the decision to stand down as co-captain and from the leadership group, effective immediately.

‘Having been a leader and captain of the Lions has been an honour, but it’s time for the club to move forward with a fresh start.

‘I spoke through this with the club over the last week or two with Danny (Daly) and with ‘Fages’ (Chris Fagan), and it was a pretty easy decision for me, and time to move on and let someone else or Harris do the job by himself.’

Later, Lions boss Chris Fagan broke his silence on Neale’s contract situation as speculation has arisen that Neale, could move back to Western Australia.

‘I hope he does (stay), but he’s an unrestricted free agent,’ Fagan said.

‘So he can make a call on what he needs to do.

‘He probably needs the next six or seven months to see what the next right step is.

‘I hope he stays and plays with us. But if he chooses to move back to Perth, because he needs to be close to his children, then he’ll do that with our blessing.

‘We’re not going to hold anyone to ransom. We’ll just go along with the flow on that.’
