Gyokeres to build on midweek?
It’s about blooming time that Viktor Gyokeres came good, eh?
Before Arsenal’s midweek clash with Chelsea in the Carabao Cup, I was in the camp that Gabriel Jesus should now be the man leading the line for Arsenal. Gyokeres has had his chance and failed.
Well, maybe he hasn’t failed just yet…
The Swede must have read all the slander against him after the Liverpool game and taken it personally because his performance against the Blues was his best in an Arsenal shirt by some way.
It was clear from minute one that he was up for the game. He held up the ball brilliantly in the opening seconds before sliding through Bukayo Saka.
Then came his big moment in the second half, his goal. A real striker’s goal, which I will show you in a few minutes. Oh, and he got an assist too.
Can he build on that performance tonight?
