England are set to play at the home of Mickey Mouse as they seek to discover the magic kingdom of a World Cup victory.

Daily Mail Sport understands the FA is in discussions for Thomas Tuchel’s men to play a pre-tournament friendly in Orlando, ahead of their attempt to lift the trophy for the first time since 1966.

While they are set to be based in Kansas City when the tournament in the US, Mexico and Canada kicks off, England will first head to Florida for an acclimatisation camp.

They will play two friendlies in the Sunshine State – and it can be disclosed that both Orlando and Tampa are the frontrunners to host them.

Daily Mail Sport understands the FA is in discussions for England to play two pre-World Cup friendlies in Florida as part of an acclimatisation camp before the tournament begins

While the FA declined to comment, they are thought to see a number of benefits in the plans. Florida is home to thousands of ex-pats and British holidaymakers and the games – which are set to include tickets that are considerably more affordable than World Cup matches – could give fans a chance to watch the Three Lions on US turf.

Where England will be based in Florida is again subject to ongoing discussions. While Orlando would be a hit for those with young families, privacy may prove tricky. Tampa, on Florida’s Gulf Coast, could prove to be a more suitable destination.

FA officials have lodged their bid with FIFA to stay in Kansas City for the tournament itself. The thinking is that the Midwest city, will prove ideal thanks to its location, in that it is not too far away from many of the potential venues.

The Netherlands and Argentina are also looking to base themselves in the Missouri city, which has a wealth of training complexes.
