TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods has opened up on the horrific eye injury she suffered on a romantic getaway with her fiancé Adam Collard in 2024.
Woods, 38, had been enjoying a trip with the Love Island star in May of that year when a freak accident left her needing emergency surgery.
The broadcaster said that while attempting to throw a pillow at Collard, she struck a light shade, which cracked on the roof and ‘came down’ on her head and back.
Woods was rushed to hospital and forced to pull out of covering Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk a couple of days later, before driving some five hours to London for plastic surgery.
She hadn’t opened up on the terrifying ordeal but now, some 18 months later, the mother-of-one has shared a handful of gruesome images of her injuries.
The first, captioned ‘a very bad day, these cuts ended up going down to the bone’, showed Woods with a serious gash above and beneath her eye.

The 38-year-old, who also fronts Amazon Prime’s Champions League coverage, also shared post-surgery snaps, which showed her nursing scars around her face coverage by bandages.
She too suffered wounds to the back of her arms. One pictured showed Woods bleeding from her right elbow, with the caption: ‘The back of my arm was a bit of a mess too, but I can’t see that bit.’
Woods has since undergone ‘lots of red light therapy’ in an attempt to restore to its pre-injury state, though admitted that she went through ‘an ugly phase where the scars seem like they’re regressing’. She light-heartedly dubbed that period the ‘Bear Grylls stage’.
