Wolves are open to selling striker Jorgen Strand Larsen for around £40million, amid increased interest from Nottingham Forest.

Daily Mail Sport reported on the eve of the window how the Norway international was a target for Forest, Crystal Palace and West Ham. Other clubs such as Everton, Aston Villa and Spurs have also considered the 25-year-old but have been unsure about his form.

Newcastle, who had scouts at Wolves versus West Ham last week, failed with a £55m bid in the summer and could look for another forward if Will Osula departs. At the start of this month, West Ham felt Larsen was too expensive at £40m and subsequently spent £47m on Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos.

Forest, missing last season’s 20-goal top scorer Chris Wood who has had surgery on an injured knee, have allowed Arnaud Kalimuendo to join Eintracht Frankfurt and have also enquired about Napoli’s Lorenzo Lucca. The Italians in turn hold an interest in Forest winger Dan Ndoye.

Wolves defender Ki-Jana Hoever is set to join Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season. It will be his fifth spell on loan since joining from Liverpool in 2020.

Tottenham have made a revised proposal to Santos of around £13million for left wing-back Souza. Santos have been holding out for more for the 19-year-old plus a sell-on percentage.

Liverpool have moved to add another young centre back to their ranks with Noah Adekoya from Burnley.

The 19-year old has progressed through Burnley’s academy to sign his first professional deal last October. The Liverpudlian captained Burnley to the U18 Professional Development League North title last season.

He previously spent time on trial with Liverpool in 2018. He will join the club’s development squad who are also bringing in new signings, Senegalese centre back Mor Ndiaye and Austrian Ifeanyi Ndukwe, in the summer.

Burnley are recalling forward Luca Koleosho from his loan spell at Espanyol to allow him to join Paris FC until the end of the season. Koleosho has started just once, in the Spanish Cup, for Espanyol this season.

Crystal Palace are interested in signing £12m-rated right-back Zakaria El Ouahdi from Genk.

The Morocco international is among the options they are considering as Palace have injuries to Daniel Munoz and Nathaniel Clyne.

Palace are also among the clubs interested in Manchester City defender Juma Bah who is on loan at Nice.

Coventry have confirmed the loan signing of Romain Esse from Palace for the rest of the season.

Ajax have added Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte to a list of possible targets for January.

The Uruguay international also has interest from Galatasaray. He started for United at Burnley last night.

Monaco are weighing up a move for Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

The 26-year-old started out at Paris St Germain before joining Lille and is keen on a return to the French league.

Monaco are also in the market for a striker and have been assessing targets in the Premier League.

Brentford are in talks to sign teenage Cameroon international Chris Pondy.

The 17-year-old left-sided centre back is part of the Dauphine Academy and impressed at the recent Afcon U17 Championships. He turns 18 in March.

Watford have held talks over a potential deal for Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove who suffered a cardiac arrest just over a year ago.

Bove, who is only 23, was a big favourite of Jose Mourinho’s during his time coaching at Roma but the Italy U21 international almost lost his life when he collapsed with a cardiac arrest on December 1, 2024, while playing on loan at Fiorentina against Inter Milan.

Bove was fitted with an implanted cardioverter defibrillator, similar to that of former Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen, but that means he is unable to play in Serie A any longer owing to their stricter regulations.

However, he can play in the Netherlands or in the UK and is in the process of cancelling his contract by mutual consent with Roma.

He will become a free agent and Watford have been approached about taking him on a short term contract.

West Ham’s bid to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Bento is under serious threat from Genoa.

West Ham have offered a loan with option to buy to Bento’s club Al Nassr but the 26-year-old is understood to prefer the chance to move to Italy instead.

West Ham are now in a perilous league position following last night’s 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest where keeper Alphonse Areola gave away the crucial penalty after punching Morgan Gibbs-White in the head.

Equally, Genoa are one place above the relegation places in Serie A but are increasingly hopeful of tempting the Brazil keeper to join them.

Salford City are closing on the signing of Fleetwood Town striker Ryan Graydon.

The 26-year-old former Republic of Ireland U19 international has scored three goals in 12 games this season.

Salford have agreed to pay £350,000 with bonuses potentially taking the fee up to £500,000. They hope to complete the deal on Thursday.

Southampton striker Damion Downs has joined Hamburg on loan.

The 21-year-old USA international, who was born in Germany, joined Saints from Cologne for £7million in July.

His last appearance for Southampton was as a 78th-minute substitute in the 3-0 win over Leicester City on 25 November.

Hamburg are 13th in Bundesliga and four points off a relegation play-off place.
