The PDC World Darts Championship breaks for Christmas but Alexandra Palace will soon be back for the biggest event in darts.

A record 128 of the sports’ best players are contesting the world title in London, with world No 1 Luke Littler up and running as defending champion, while last year’s finalist Michael van Gerwen is also safely through.

The 2024 champion Luke Humphries could present Littler’s toughest challenge, should he emerge from a tough side of the draw, though the Ally Pally has inspired some shocks already, with former champion Gerwyn Price, against Wesley Plaisier, and world No 6 Danny Noppert, against the inspired debutant Justin Hood, early casualties.

The excitement continues to build in the third round on the road to the final on Saturday, 3 January.

Here’s everything you need to know about the latest matches and results from Alexandra Palace.
