Police were called to Holland Road in the Hurst Green area of Oxted

Two teenage men have died after a car crashed into a tree, police said.

Surrey Police said officers were called to reports of a serious crash involving a white Tesla on Holland Road, near the junction with Popes Lane, in the Hurst Green area of Oxted shortly before 22:00 GMT on Saturday.

A 30-year-old man from Oxted was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

One teenager died at the scene and the second died later in hospital, said the force. A third teenage man remains in hospital with “life-threatening injuries”.

Surrey Police said the driver of the Tesla was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Holland Road was closed between the Popes Lane junction and the junction with Warren Lane while officers carried out enquiries on Sunday.

Police urged witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
