NFL fans claim Giants’ ‘all-time collapse’ seals Brian Daboll’s fate after implosion against Broncos

Head coach Brian Daboll has been left in the hot seat after the New York Giants suffered an epic implosion against the Denver Broncos.

The Giants, under the new leadership of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, had scored 19 points unanswered heading into the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game in the Mile High City.

Yet, as the final two seconds of the clash ticked down, the visitors were left shellshocked as Broncos kicker Wil Lutz’s walkoff field goal sailed through the uprights and the Giants’ victory slipped through their fingers.

New York allowed the Broncos to score a staggering 33 points in the fourth quarter alone and gave up the result in the dying seconds.

The Giants had pulled off a thrilling touchdown drive with just under two minutes remaining but Bo Nix and co strung together a four-play, 56-yard drive that started with 37 seconds left and was capped off by Lutz’s game-winning kick.

Fans were already dubbing the disastrous defeat an ‘all time collapse’ as they insisted it should be the final nail in the coffin of Daboll’s job security.

NFL fans claimed that New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll must be fired after Sunday

‘BLOWING A GAME LIKE THIS COULD LEAD TO DABOLL BEING FIRED,’ one furious supporter claimed on social media.

‘If the Giants lose Brian DaBoll has to get fired. Wtf,’ another agreed, before the loss had even been sealed, while a third added: ‘Giants fans, this game should get Brian Daboll fired, honestly.’

‘Daboll got what he deserved. Completely mismanaged the clock when they got it at the 1,’ another fan posted.

‘That should be a wrap on Brian Daboll as #Giants head coach,’ another insisted. ‘This loss is inexcusable.’

‘I would fire Schoen and Daboll tomorrow. We’re in Week 7. Same sloppy tendencies,’ New York sports content creator Ryan Gracia urged. ‘Lowering the win total of a talented team.’

The pressure also appeared to be getting to Daboll as he was reportedly seen screaming in the face of his defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.

The Broncos were actually in danger of getting shut out at home for the first time in their 66-year history when they were blanked for three quarters.

The Broncos had trailed 26-8 with just over 5 minutes remaining but scored on a seven-yard Nix scamper, R.J. Harvey’s two-yard catch, an 18-yard keeper by Nix.

Lutz then sealed the comeback after Dart seemingly broke the Broncos’ hearts with a one-yard TD with 37 seconds left that gave New York a 32-30 lead.

Jude McAtamney missed his second extra point of the afternoon, however, and after Tyler Badie returned the kickoff 19 yards to the 23, Nix found Marvin Mims for 29 yards and Courtland Sutton for 22.

With no timeouts remaining, Nix and the offense raced to the line of scrimmage at the Giants 21 and spiked the ball with 2 seconds left.

The snap was high but Lutz nailed the field goal to secure Denver’s fourth consecutive win overall and NFL-best eighth straight at home.
