NFL first-round draft pick Treylon Burks lands new team after leaving Titans

Wide receiver Treylon Burks has landed with a new team after being waived by the Titans last week.

Burks, the No. 18 overall pick in 2022, broke his collarbone in training camp and had been on injured reserve this year before being released by Tennessee.

Now, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he’s set to join the Commanders as a member of the team’s practice squad.

Rapoport added that Burks, 25, would ‘likely’ be elevated to the team’s active roster soon with Washington facing several injuries at the wide receiver position.

Washington’s Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel both didn’t practice on Thursday due to respective quad and heel issues, while Noah Brown was also placed on injured reserve this week with groin and knee injuries.

Burks failed to live up to his high draft price in three seasons with the Titans, as he averaged just 25.9 receiving yards per game in 27 contests (699 yards total) with just one touchdown.

His best season to date was his rookie season, in which he caught 33 balls for 444 yards and a score.

The former University of Arkansas star has been limited by injuries throughout his NFL career, as he played in just 11 games during his rookie season due to turf toe and concussion issues.

He again missed six games the following year as he suffered a knee sprain and another concussion.

And last year, his season was cut short after just five games as he tore his ACL against the Colts.

He has yet to appear in a game this season.

Burks reportedly visited the Broncos as well before ultimately signing with the Commanders.

Washington (3-3) will face the Cowboys on Sunday.
