Harrison Butker’s latest miss was met with cheers from both Detroit Lions fans and the Kansas City Chiefs kicker’s feminist critics.
Given the chance to put Kansas City up 7-0 over Detroit in the first quarter on Sunday night at Arrowhead Stadium, the 30-year-old Georgia Tech product shanked the extra point wide left. It was his third failed PAT attempt of the year after missing just two over the previous two seasons.
‘Every time harrison butker misses an extra point/field goal, a woman earns a college degree and breaks up with her boyfriend,’ joked one of his critics online.
Butker has always been outspoken about his catholic faith and values, but found himself at odds with feminists in May of 2024 when he encouraged female college graduates to abandon the work force in favor of life as a stay-at-home mother.
‘I have a wife who leans into her vocation… and [embraces] one of the most important titles of all: homemaker,’ he said during a commencement address at Benedictine College. ‘I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say that her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.’
Butker’s statements proved divisive. Conservatives, such as President Donald Trump, have embraced the place kicker, but many others have accused him of sexism.
Harrison Butker has now missed three extra point attempts this season for the Chiefs

Butker has been targeted by feminists ever since his 2024 commencement address
On Sunday, those critics went on to suggest he learn his way around the kitchen.
‘Maybe it’s time for Harrison Butker to learn to cook and get his a** in the kitchen where he belongs,’ one critic wrote on X. ‘He clearly does not belong in the NFL.’
Many others added some version of: ‘Butker belongs in the kitchen.’
Butker also took criticism from another group: Gamblers.
With the first-quarter over-under set at 9.5 points, Butker’s missed PAT resulted in a 6-3 score entering the second frame.
‘F*** YOU HARRISON BUTKER,’ wrote on angry gambler who bet $325.54 on the over with a chance to win $549.49.
Butker would go on to make his next two PATs as Kansas City built a 20-10 first-half lead.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has struggled a bit in 2025, missing 3 of 13 field-goal attempts entering Sunday.
