A former teammate of Kyren Lacy’s paid tribute to the late football star on Saturday night – a day after bombshell evidence emerged in the fatal car crash which occurred before his suicide in April.
Lacy took his own life after being charged with felony negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle after a man died in a December 17 car crash.
And while police have claimed that Lacy’s reckless driving caused a crash which ultimately killed 78-year-old Herman Hall, Lacy’s lawyer, Matt Ory, provided evidence that his client was actually more than 72 yards behind the crash when it occurred.
Following the emergence of those alleged details, Lacy’s former LSU teammate, CJ Daniels, wore eye black in honor of the late NFL prospect on Saturday night.
Daniels, who is now playing for Miami, put his face extremely close to the camera after scoring a touchdown – revealing the phrase ‘LLK2’ written on his eye black.
The phrase presumably means ‘long live K2’, with the No. 2 being a reference to Lacy’s jersey number with the Tigers.

Fans were full of praise for Daniels after his tribute to Lacy was revealed.
‘That’s a true friend right there,’ one said.
‘We ain’t forget about you 2,’ another said.
And a third said: ‘Truth has been shown!’
Daniels had two receiving touchdowns at the time of writing against Florida State as he honored his friend.
His tribute comes after Ory provided bombshell new details from the car crash that Lacy was alleged to have caused.
Ory provided HTV 10 with footage of Lacy’s lime green Dodge Charger during the crash – seemingly showing it far behind the other cars at the time the cars collided.
Police had claimed that Lacy caused the crash when he illegally passed four other vehicles.
Ory, citing information from the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office, said that while Lacy did illegally pass those other cars in a no-pass zone, the notion that he was illegally passing at the time of the crash was ‘100 percent false.’ He also said, citing the DA’s report, that Lacy was in the proper lane at the time of the crash.

Ory also took issue with the fact that Louisiana State Police didn’t bother to question the passenger riding with Lacy.
‘There was another passenger in Kyren Lacy’s car. They knew this,’ Ory said. ‘They have video footage of this individual getting out of the car. Why didn’t you ascertain his identity? Why would you not want to hear the person with one of the best views of this incident? Why would you not bring him in for questioning?’
On Saturday, April 12, one of Lacy’s family members called Harris County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office after Lacy allegedly had an argument with a family and fired a gun into the ground.
He fled the scene, leading officers to search for the Louisiana native. But, when cops identified the car he was driving and attempted a traffic stop, Lacy allegedly led them on a miles-long car chase that ended with another crash in Spring, Texas.
Lacy was found dead in the driver’s seat, the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.
