Late NFL hopeful Kyren Lacy’s attorney releases bombshell video he claims proves LSU star was innocent months after his suicide

The lawyer of late NFL prospect Kyren Lacy has provided bombshell details in the fatal car crash which occurred before his suicide in April.

Lacy, a former LSU wide receiver and NFL hopeful, took his own life after being charged with felony negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle after a man died in a December 17 car crash.

He was set to be heard by a grand jury less than two days after he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

And while prosecutors have been claiming that Lacy’s alleged reckless driving was the ultimate cause of 78-year-old Herman Hall’s death, his lawyer, Matt Ory, has said his client wasn’t anywhere close to the crash.

Citing information from the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office, Ory told HTV 10 that Lacy was actually more than 72 yards behind the crash when it occurred. Ory also provided video footage of Lacy’s lime green Dodge Charger seemingly behind the crash.

Police had claimed that Lacy caused a crash when he illegally passed four other vehicles.

Ory has said that while Lacy did illegally pass those other cars in a no-pass zone, the notion that he was illegally passing at the time of the crash was ‘100 percent false.’ He also said, citing the DA’s report, that Lacy was in the proper lane at the time of the crash.

Furthermore, the driver of the vehicle which hit and killed Hall allegedly gave told police she had been trying to avoid a gold truck – not Lacy’s lime green Charger as had been alleged.

The report cited from the DA claimed the state trooper speaking with that driver ‘attempted to recap what she was saying, which seems to contradict her statements.’

Ory, who claimed back in April that his client was completely innocent of the felony charges he was facing, also took issue with the fact that Louisiana State Police didn’t bother to question the passenger riding with Lacy.

‘There was another passenger in Kyren Lacy’s car. They knew this,’ Ory said. ‘They have video footage of this individual getting out of the car. Why didn’t you ascertain his identity? Why would you not want to hear the person with one of the best views of this incident? Why would you not bring him in for questioning?’

State Police told WBRZ that they conducted a ‘detailed investigation with the assistance of crash reconstruction experts and with all available information at the time.’

‘Investigative findings revealed that Mr. Lacy’s reckless driving while approaching oncoming traffic led to the events of the crash,’ Louisiana State Police said.

‘The findings were presented to the 17th Judicial District Court, which approved an arrest warrant based on the evidence collected. As with all investigations leading to arrest, the subjects of the investigation are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Back in February, Ory echoed the same sentiment as he did in his recent HTV 10 interview.

‘The collision that resulted in the death of Mr. Herman was not caused by Mr. Lacy’s actions,’ Ory wrote in a February statement. ‘The accident occurred directly in front of him when a second vehicle in the oncoming lane crossed the center line and collided with Mr. Herman’s vehicle.’

On Saturday, April 12, one of Lacy’s family members called Harris County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office after Lacy allegedly had an argument with a family and fired a gun into the ground.

He fled the scene, leading officers to search for the Louisiana native. But, when cops identified the car he was driving and attempted a traffic stop, Lacy allegedly led them on a miles-long car chase that ended with another crash, this one in Spring, Texas.

Lacy was found dead in the driver’s seat, the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

The wide receiver had led the Tigers with nine touchdowns the season prior and seemed assured of hearing his name called in this year’s NFL Draft.
