Kansas City head coach Andy Reid has revealed that Travis Kelce was ‘mad’ at him after their recent win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Kelce and Reid locked horns on the sidelines less than two weeks ago during the Chiefs’ game against the New York Giants – in a heated moment that went viral.

The duo were seen yelling at each other as Kansas City were struggling in the first half, with Reid even bumping Kelce before things cooled off and they won the game.

They eventually moved past that confrontation and recorded another win after beating the Ravens on Sunday – but Reid revealed that tensions boiled over again.

He explained that Kelce voiced his frustrations over his snap counts for this season – which have decreased week-on-week.

He played in 84 percent of the Chiefs’ offensive plays in their season-opener, 77 percent against the Eagles, 74 percent against the Giants and 66 percent on Sunday.

Speaking on Kelce’s involvement, Reid explained: ‘He gets mad at me but it’s my responsibility to make sure that we don’t get too many reps in there, that we give him at least a blow here and there.

‘He’d play every play if he had his choice’.

So far this season, Kelce has 182 yards and a touchdown on 15 receptions. He’s also averaging 8.3 yards each time – which is his best return since 2022.

‘I thought he really played well in both the run and pass game,’ Reid said after the Chiefs’ 37-20 win over Baltimore.

‘He looked strong all the way through. He’s in great shape right now. That’s the important part. He came back, and he’d really trained hard and aggressive for this thing.

‘He’s such a big part of it. Not only his effort, but the mentality he comes into these games with, he’s all-in all the time.’

After their on-field bust-up against the Giants, some fans claimed that the bust-up suggests that things are starting to unravel in Kansas City.

However, Kelce insisted that it helped ‘take my game to another level’.

He told reporters: ‘What Andy made of it. I love that guy, man. There’s nothing outside of this building that’s going to make me feel any different way.

‘We know exactly each other’s intentions. I think what Coach Reid does best is he challenges guys to be at their best, and I love that about him’.
