Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Skip Peete suffered a worrying ‘medical episode’ during practice on Wednesday morning.
Reports claimed that Peete was taken to hospital after briefly being checked by paramedics at the Bucs’ training facility. He is reportedly ‘alert and in good spirits’.
Players are said to have showed their respects by taking a knee while Peete was down and being treated my medics.
Peete, 62, joined the Bucs back in 2023 in the latest chapter of his long and storied career on the NFL sidelines, which began back in 1988.
He first started as a graduate assistant in Pittsburgh before taking on a number of roles – eventually landing as the Bucs’ running backs coach.
Prior to his current role, he also spent time with the Raiders, Cowboys, Bears and Rams – either as a wide receivers coach of a running backs coach.

The Buccaneers later released a statement which read: ‘During this morning’s walk-through practice, running backs coach Skip Peete experienced a medical episode.
‘He was attended to by team medical personnel and was responsive, coherent, and in stable condition prior to being transported off site for further medical evaluations. Additional updates will be provided as they become available’.
Peete is also the brother of former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete while their father, Willie, was a running backs coach between 1983-97 in the NFL.
