NFL star suffers instant karma after pretending to suffer hamstring injury… and then injuring his hamstring

Steelers star Jalen Ramsey was the victim of some instant karma on Sunday, as he suffered a real injury after faking one against the Vikings.

Ramsey believed he had scored a long fumble return for a touchdown when Vikings running back Jordan Mason coughed up the ball in the first quarter.

And as he broke away from the Minnesota players, he mocked them by pretending to pull his hamstring as he walked into the end zone.

In reality, the cornerback was completely fine as he quickly transitioned to a celebration dance.

But the touchdown was subsequently wiped off the board after it was determined that Mason was out of bounds with possession of the ball, and Ramsey was the victim of some cruel karma later in the game.

While trying to keep up with Vikings receiver Jordan Addison, Ramsey actually pulled his hamstring, as he could be seen hobbling towards the end of a play.

And while Pittsburgh will head back from Ireland with a victory over the Vikings, it appears as though the injury will sideline Ramsey for a bit.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac, both Ramsey and receiver Calvin Austin III (who injured his shoulder in the win) are expected to miss ‘at least’ several games.

The Steelers have a well-timed Week 5 bye that will give Ramsey some time to recover.

Ramsey finished the game with two total tackles.

Austin, meanwhile, had two catches for 13 yards.

Ramsey, a seven-time Pro Bowler, was traded to Pittsburgh from Miami in June and subsequently signed a four year, $84.7million deal.

He has suffered some previous injury issues, as a torn meniscus in 2023 limited him to 10 games, while he only played 12 games in 2019 amid a back injury.

The Steelers will face the Browns in Week 6 following their bye – seemingly without Ramsey in the lineup.
