A “disgusting predator” who showed no remorse for raping a young girl over a four-year period has been jailed.
Matthew Webb, from Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, repeatedly attacked the girl when she aged between 11 and 15.
The 34-year-old was arrested on 28 last year after the victim confided in an adult and went to police, before more evidence emerged, Greater Manchester Police said.
Webb was found guilty of 10 offences including rape and making indecent images of a child and was jailed for 28 years after a week-long trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
During interviews Webb was uncooperative and answered “no comment” to all questions.
He continued to deny the offences and throughout the investigation and trial he showed no remorse, police said.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank the victim for her courageous decision to report the abuse to police,” a police spokesman.
“Webb is a disgusting predator who though he could use a child for his own gratification with total disregard.
“I hope this sentence brings the victim a sense of justice and allows her to move on as she rebuilds her life.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to reach out to victims of child sexual abuse and let them know that they are not alone.”
