
A mountain rescue team has been called in to help find a missing woman.
Mavis, 62, was last seen leaving her home in the Haughton area of Darlington on Tuesday, according to Durham Police.
She is believed to have headed towards the town centre and CCTV footage showed her leaving South Park at about 13:30 BST.
Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team (TWSMRT) said members of its hill and specialist canoe teams had searched “various woodlands and rivers” for three days.
“Unfortunately, Mavis is still missing and anyone with further information should please contact Durham Constabulary,” it said.
Mavis is described as 6ft (1.8m) tall with long blonde hair.
She was last seen wearing a green puffer jacket and burgundy trousers and was carrying a black leather handbag.
She is known to frequent High Row and Broken Scar picnic area.

“Officers would particularly like to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage covering the Skerne Park and West End areas of Darlington around that time,” a force spokesperson said.
“Additionally, the farming community is asked to check their farmland and outbuildings.”
