Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was given his marching orders after just four minutes at Old Trafford for a ridiculous foul on Bryan Mbeumo.
Sanchez was immediately dismissed after rushing out to stop the Manchester United striker and wiping him out, leaving manager Enzo Maresca aghast on the bench.
The Blues were forced into two early changes as Filip Jorgensen came on in net while wonderkid Estevao Willian was sacrificed for an extra defender in Tosin Adarabioyo.
