The family of a motorcyclist killed in a crash says he was “caring, decent and kind.”

Arron Lewis, 33, died at the scene after a collision involving his motorbike and a car in Altrincham, Trafford, on Wednesday 10 September, Greater Manchester Police said.

Mr Lewis’ family said they were “heartbroken” and he would be “missed more than words can say”.

He “brought light and laughter wherever he went” and “was just beginning to build the next chapter of his life”, they added.

They said Mr Lewis, a driving instructor in Sale, “found freedom on two wheels” outside of work, regarding it as an escape from what he affectionately called his office – his car.

He was a member of a fundraising motorcycle club called The Weekend Riders and had also raised money for charity through training and competing in Ultra White-Collar Boxing.

“He leaves behind his incredibly proud parents and older brother, his loving girlfriend, and her two young children who absolutely adored him,” his family said.

“He was also a proud uncle to two teenage nephews, who looked up to him.”

“Our family is devastated by his loss. We ask for privacy while we grieve, and speculation to be avoided around the circumstances of his passing,” the tribute continued.

“We are incredibly proud of the man Arron was and the life he lived.”

Police have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage to contact them.
