Leigh hooker Edwin Ipape has picked up a one-match ban, ruling him out of his side’s final match of the regular season against Huddersfield Giants.

The Papau New Guinea international was given a yellow card during the late stages of the first half of the Leopards’ 28-10 victory against St Helens for a high shot on Daryl Clark.

Already guaranteed a top-four spot, Leigh will secure third place with a win against Huddersfield following Leeds Rhinos’ surprise defeat at home by Catalans.

Ipape will be able to return to action during the first week of the play-offs, which will be at home for the Leopards – a privilege they secured after Friday’s win.

The match review panel also confirmed St Helens’ George Delaney and Clark have been charged with Grade A offences and issued with a penalty point.

Delaney has also been given a one-match suspension while Clark has received a fine.

Meanwhile, Warrington Wolves forward Lachlan Fitzgibbon has received a two-match ban and a fine following a high tackle on Hull FC’s Sam Eseh which saw him sent to the sin-bin.

The incident occurred in the first half of Wolves’ 34-2 defeat by the Black and Whites at the MKM Stadium on Saturday.
