This is the touching moment kindhearted Ricky Hatton tells a bullied 10-year-old boy to ‘keep his chin up’.

The boxing icon, 46, sent the inspirational video to schoolboy Louie after he was targeted by cruel bullies.

The two-weight world champion offered words of support to the youngster, who had recently taken up boxing.

In the 30-second video, Hatton tells him that getting in the ring would give him confidence and help him beat the bullies.

‘I believe you’ve been having a tough time at school by a couple of bullies,’ Hatton says.

‘Don’t worry about it my mate, that’s nothing new. Even I had a bully when I was at school.

‘But you’ve done the right thing taking up the boxing, not so you can get your own back on him and beat him up, but boxing gives you confidence, doesn’t it?

‘And the minute these bullies see you’ve got a little bit of confidence, they’ll leave you alone. So I think you’ve done the right thing, mate.

‘Keep your chin up, and I wish you all the best with the boxing. Good luck, son.’

The video was posted last Wednesday by Louie’s mother, Sally – just days before Hatton was found dead at his Greater Manchester home.

Today Sally said the video would be ‘treasured forever’ and that she feels lucky to have it.

She posted a video on her social media page where the visibly emotional mother  fights back tears

‘This man took his time to send this video to my little boy,’ she said.

Hatton was found at his home on Sunday morning, where mourners emotionally laid floral tributes and gloves. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: ‘Officers were called by a member of the public to attend Bowlacre Road, Hyde, Tameside, at 6:45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.’

Hatton had one son, Campbell, who retired from boxing at 24 to become a solar panel installer in July, two daughters, Millie and Fearne, and a granddaughter called Lyla.

Nicknamed ‘the Hitman’, Hatton was an aggressive and brave fighter who held multiple world and UK titles between 1997 and 2012 – including the night he toppled Russia’s Kostya Tszyu to go from underdog to boxing sensation overnight.

The Daily Mail understands that friends were initially concerned last night, when Hatton failed to appear at a fight in Bolton involving one of his boxers, believed to be Jack Murphy, after also missing his gym session on Friday.

After retiring from the ring, he had moved into coaching but was due to return to the sport with a fight planned in Dubai in December.

Hatton, who was awarded an MBE for services to sport in 2007, had often spoken of his struggles with mental health and drug addiction.
