Everton confident of striking cut-price deal for Jack Grealish despite £50m option in Man City loan agreement

Everton are hoping that star man Jack Grealish will be able to join the club permanently on a cut-price deal at the end of his loan spell.

The forward joined the Toffees on a temporary basis in the summer after falling out of favour at Manchester City and being left out of their squad for the Club World Cup in order to sort his future.

Daily Mail Sport revealed during the summer transfer window how Grealish, 30, had made financial sacrifices to push through the loan switch.

Grealish, who earns around £300,000 a week plus sponsorships at City, according to Everton sources, went ‘above and beyond’ to make the deal happen.

And he has hit the ground running in fine fashion, picking up four assists in two games and already becoming a fan favourite at the club’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

As a result, the Toffees are keen to make his temporary stay permanent as a priority, and are hopeful they will be able to do so for cheaper than the £50million price that was included in the deal.

Daily Mail Sport understands that the figure is not fixed and the Toffees are hopeful that they will be able to twist City’s hand – Grealish will only have one year left on his contract next summer.

Grealish has been rewarded for his fine early season form with the Premier League player of the month award, which he was handed by team-mate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on Friday.

After spending the majority of last season on the periphery of Pep Guardiola’s first team, making only seven league starts, the 30-year-old was convinced by manager David Moyes that Everton can provide him with the platform to rekindle his form of old and stake a claim for Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad.

He was, though, left out of Tuchel’s squad for the most recent international break.

The move across the North West also means Grealish does not have to uproot his young family.

Grealish has won three Premier League titles, the Champions League and FA Cup during his time at City. This included being a major part of their Treble winning squad in the 2022-23 season.  He was also a part of their 2023 UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup winning squads.

After a dip, though, he has hit form again and this week marked turning 30 in typically flamboyant style by throwing a secret ‘Grealfields’ festival with his long-time girlfriend Sasha Attwood and their baby daughter Mila at his side.

The Everton loanee was able to host the bash after being left out of Tuchel’s latest international squad. He had earlier treated himself to a seven-hour pub crawl in Sweden during the break before flying back to set up his birthday celebration.

Pictures shared on Instagram showed Grealish and Attwood posing on a lawn with Mila, who turned one this month.
