Country music star Jessica Simpson dished some anger on her ex-boyfriend and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo in the middle of a concert.
Simpson and Romo were in a highly-publicized and often criticized relationship from November 2007 to July of 2009.
Their coupling was discussed in the worlds of pop culture, sports, and even politics – with then-President George W. Bush commenting on their relationship and blaming Simpson for Romo’s poor performances with the Cowboys.
On stage during a recent concert, Simpson revealed that Romo had recently reached back out to her to sell a boat that they purchased while dating.
‘A couple weeks ago, my mom got a phone call, and he’s like calling my mom saying “Well, Tina, I’m selling the boat”,’ Simpson explained to the crowd.
‘And my mom’s like “Okay, and?” and he’s like “Well, Jessica’s name is still on the title.” So, then I get paperwork and I have to sign over this boat for him to sell, and guess what he gave me as a thank you? Plastic cups.

The two endured a brief but publicly discussed relationship from fall 2007 until summer 2009
‘Honestly, plastic cups. I’m like “Wow, I’m glad we didn’t work out.”‘
Perhaps not surprisingly, Cowboys fans – who did not exactly treat Simpson with the most grace – mocked the singer for her reaction.
‘Romo stays winning lol take your cups and be happy,’ one fan posted.
‘That’s my quarterback,’ another wrote – quoting former Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens.
‘I don’t know the story on the boat, but I have to imagine Mrs. Romo is thrilled he is selling it and he’s not risking that win by buying his ex-girlfriend anything nicer than plastic cups,’ another fan said.
Simpson and Romo did not end things amicably, with a friend of the quarterback’s telling Us Weekly at the time, ‘It’s been a long time coming. They go from one fight right into another, without a second break. It’s always something with Jessica.’
As for the singer, the 45-year-old recently made her return to the MTV VMAs this week with an attention-grabbing performance.
