Donald Trump was protected behind new glass panels set up for his visit to the New York Yankees baseball game against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday (11 September).
The safety measures came after Charlie Kirk, the right-wing political activist and close ally of the president, was fatally shot while on stage at a speaking event in Utah the day before, with the suspect still at large as of Friday.
Trump was received by a chorus of boos at the stadium, as supporters responded with chants of “USA! USA!.”
