Reuben Logan, son of Match of the Day presenter Gabby, has opened up on how his parents’ sex life revelations have impacted his job as a professional rugby player.
Reuben, who is the son of former Scotland international Kenny, plays for Sale Sharks after joining from Northampton Saints ahead of this season.
Kenny was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022 and received treatment before he underwent a successful operation.
During his recovery, Kenny joined Gabby’s podcast The Mid Point for an episode where they discussed their sex life, with 76 per cent of men experiencing erectile dysfunction in the aftermath of treatment for prostate cancer, according to research.
There was therefore a wider positive to their discussions – which have also been had by both Kenny and Gabby elsewhere – but Reuben revealed how his parents’ conversations resulted in him receiving stick in the changing room.
‘I will openly say now that I said: “Can. You. Please. Stop”,’ Reuben told The Telegraph. ‘I remember being in the gym at Saints and the podcast was being played for half the gym session. It was only my second or third month there!

‘I did not know that that podcast had happened until I had heard it and I remember saying to her: “What have you been talking about online?”
‘”It’s good!” she said. I said: “I’m sure it is but you do have a late-teenage son in a rugby environment, so you have to think about that!” Maybe Lois [Reuben’s twin sister] was not affected at university with her friends but I might have been.’
Reuben’s comments were in good spirits and also came after Gabby accidentally revealed news of his move to Sale during a separate interview.
Gabby had spoken last year about how Reuben had found the podcast slightly difficult to deal with after she said that Kenny was ‘still fully functioning’ following his operation.
‘He’s like, “Mum, can you stop talking about your sex life, because now I go into work, they play clips in the dressing room. It would be helpful if you could just shut up for a while”,’ Gabby had said.
‘And I’m like, “Actually Reuben, next week’s episode — just on that”.
‘We don’t just talk about my sex life, can I just say,’ Gabby clarified.
Meanwhile, Kenny did reveal that his sex life had gone downhill while he recovered from cancer.

Reuben revealed he received some stick from team-mates as a result of his parents’ chats
‘Six months on, I would say I’m physically 100 per cent, mentally 100 per cent, feel good,’ he said on the podcast in 2023.
‘From a sexual point of view, it’s not consistent. As the surgeon said to me, this could take 18 months.
‘Within a month, I was getting movement, where he says, “That’s amazing”. So it’s just not as consistent.’
Kenny also explained that lots of men need to use a penis pump to get their erectile function back to normal.
Gabby joked on her podcast back in 2022: ‘You’ve been getting to grips with your penis pump on your own!’
