Fans told Bill Belichick that Tom Brady ‘isn’t here to save him’ anymore, after the football coach suffered a humiliating defeat on debut at UNC.
The eight-time Super Bowl winner finally began life in the college football ranks as his North Carolina team took on the Horned Frogs on Monday night.
However, despite a bright start which saw a quick Tar Heels touchdown, it was the visiting side who emerged victorious – and by quite some margin.
By half-time, TCU lead the game 20-7 and, by the end of the third quarter, they were up 41-14 as the Tar Heels capitulated on Belichick’s debut.
Fans were seen leaving the stadium at that point and, in response, the former Patriots head coach made a drastic move and pulled quarter-back Gio Lopez from the game.
Lopez was replaced by Max Johnson, who immediately gave the UNC offense some juice after finding his brother, Jake Johnson, for a 2-yard touchdown.

The Johnson brothers are the sons of Brad Johnson, a former NFL quarterback who won a Super Bowl in Tampa.
Despite the immediate touchdown after the change, momentum swung back in the Horned Frogs’ favor and they went on to win the game 48-14.
It didn’t take long for those on social media to poke fun at Belichick and his misfortunes in his first game.
One fan wrote: ‘Haha he’s been exposed without Tom Brady at NFL and college level. Brady made Belichick and these “Belichick was the system” folks are left whining and crying because Brady was the system’.
Another said: ‘Brady isn’t here to save him’.
Meanwhile, Skip Bayless went on X and made reference to an infamous Belichick quote – which he said when trying to didn’t want to answer certain reporter questions.
Bayless wrote: ‘On to Cincinnati’.
Even with Michael Jordan and other Tar Heels royalty on hand for Bill Belichick ‘s North Carolina debut, it was the other Jordon – the coach’s 24-year-old girlfriend and de facto publicist – who captured the spotlight in Chapel Hill on Monday night.

Jordon Hudson made her first in-game appearance in Chapel Hill on Monday as ESPN cameras caught her alongside Randy Moss, one of Belichick’s favorite former players from his NFL days
Hudson made her first in-game appearance as ESPN cameras caught her alongside Randy Moss, one of Belichick’s favorite former NFL players, after the Tar Heels scored on the opening drive to go up 6-0 on Texas Christian.
The Jordon-fest didn’t stop there. One image posted online by CBS college football reporter John Talty quickly went viral in the hours before kickoff.
‘Top 1 sign of all time?’ Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy responded on X.
The post shows a white flag with Carolina-blue lettering and silhouette — but not the famed Air Jordan image of the Chicago Bills legend jutting his legs outward as he soared to the hoop, ball in hand.
Rather, this flag read ‘Air Jordon’ and featured the silhouette of Belichick’s infamous beach yoga pic with Hudson , in which the 73-year-old laid down in the sand while lifting his younger girlfriend above his head with his feet.
‘The early winner for best sign [reporter Richard Johnson]and I have seen so far in Chapel Hill,’ read the post by Talty.
