Nico Raskin will face crunch talks to clear the air with Rangers boss Russell Martin after a deadline-day move failed to materialise.
The Ibrox club secured two more new signings on Monday night after striker Youssef Chermiti and defender Derek Cornelius completed their moves from Everton and Marseille, respectively.
However, there was no departure for Raskin, who had been bombed out of the squad for Sunday’s Old Firm match against Celtic after a fall-out with the under-fire manager which saw him exiled from first-team training.
Martin refused to answer questions on the midfielder’s future during a tetchy post-match press conference following the 0-0 stalemate at Ibrox.
The Rangers boss claimed he ‘couldn’t hear’ the chants after a huge section of the crowd broke out in song to support a player who is the club’s prized asset.
Raskin was effectively told to stay away and watched the match at home, before heading off on international duty with Belgium.

Rangers signed young striker Youssef Chermiti from Everton in an £8million deal

The Ibrox club also brought in defender Derek Cornelius from Marseille on a loan deal
But, after tentative enquiries from a couple of potential suitors, it has now been decided that the 24-year-old will be reintegrated back into the squad if he can patch things up with Martin.
Daily Mail Sport understands the pair are expected to hold talks in an attempt to clear the air next week once Raskin returns from international duty.
Meanwhile, Chermiti, 21, has agreed terms on a four-year deal and the fee of £8million plus a further £2m in add-ons makes him the club’s second most expensive signing behind only Tore Andre Flo.
The former Sporting Lisbon youngster, who was capped by Portugal all the way up to Under-21 level, was signed at Everton two years ago by Kevin Thelwell, who is now Rangers’ sporting director.
‘I am really happy to be here,’ said Chermiti. ‘When I spoke with Kevin and Russell, I knew straight away that I wanted to join the club.
‘I can’t wait to meet everyone, the coaches, my team-mates and all of the staff. I just want to meet everyone and get involved. I have heard about the atmosphere here and the stadium and I can’t wait to play.’
Rangers boss Martin said: ‘We’re really pleased to bring Youssef to Rangers. He’s a young striker with huge potential and a lot of the qualities we were looking for in that position.
‘At just 21, he already has valuable experience at a high level, and we believe this is the right environment for him to continue his development.
‘We’re excited to work with him over the coming years and help him fulfil that potential here at Rangers.’
Cornelius, 27, is a Canadian international and a left-sided defender who can provide cover at centre-back as well as left-back. He joins on a season-long loan deal from Marseille.
‘I try to be adaptive and just adjust to whichever situation and whatever team I am,’ he said. ‘I have been in many different countries, played under many different coaches and played many different styles of football.
‘I try to bring all of these qualities together and really use them to be an asset in my play, so I am just excited to see how it is going to fit in here at Rangers.
‘Pressure is a privilege, I don’t look at pressure as a bad thing, it means you are playing for something important so when I hear high pressure matches, I get excited it gives me something to look forward to.
‘Whether that is a derby game, matches in Europe, or important league games that you have to win, it is important to make sure that you always keep that pressure and be ready to perform in all situations.’

On his conversations with Martin and Thelwell, Cornelius continued: ‘They told me that they wanted to bring in someone who is going to show a lot of leadership qualities, someone that is going to put the team before themselves and someone that has courage to play in front of the Rangers fans and supporters.’
In terms of Rangers’ other transfer dealings on deadline day, Cyriel Dessers completed a £3.5m move to Panathinaikos.
Dessers divided opinion during his two years at Ibrox but scored 52 goals in 116 appearances for the club, with Martin saying at the weekend that he would leave with everyone’s best wishes.
Oscar Cortes also completed a loan move to Sporting Gijon in Spain despite only joining Rangers on a permanent basis earlier in the summer.
Cortes has proven to be a disastrous signing at Rangers, with the club obligated to pay a fee of £4.5m to sign the Colombian winger on permanent deal after a loan from Lens last season.
Rangers will return to action against Hearts at Ibrox after the international break, with Martin still seeking his first league win as manager after the club’s worst start to a season in 42 years.
