Aston Villa are in talks to sign former Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof
Lindelof has been talking to Fiorentina and has also had interest from Everton.
However, the versatile free agent has been convinced to join up with Unai Emery at Villa Park ahead of what is expected to be a hectic deadline day scramble.
The 31-year-old departed Old Trafford at the end of last season after the decision was made not to renew his deal, bringing to an end his eight-year spell.
During that time, he made 284 appearances and won two trophies.
He played 25 times during his final campaign for United, who stuttered to their lowest-ever Premier League finish and lost the Europa League final.

Unai Emery has won the race for the free agent, who will provide much-needed back-up
Lindelof had joined on a four-year contract from Benfica in 2017.
Villa are understood to still be working to add two more attacking players and possibly a goalkeeper before the transfer deadline.
There are question marks over the future of Emi Martinez, who was left out of the defeat by Crystal Palace on Sunday after United reignited talks.
Ruben Amorim wants to sign a new shot stopper, and Martinez has emerged as a target alongside Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens.
Emery admitted the speculation around Martinez is not beneficial and wants swift clarity. ‘We need players who are focused, 100 per cent,’ he said. ‘He wasn’t.’
‘It’s not helping us. It’s one of the circumstances that we are having now not helping.’
‘Tomorrow the window finishes and we are expecting something to improve our squad. Keep calm. One of the circumstances is Emi Martinez, we will see tomorrow and then we try get the balance and work after the break.’
The possibility of Jadon Sancho going to Villa has also been floated during talks.
