Kansas City Chiefs star Rashee Rice is set to receive a six-game NFL suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, according to reports.
The wide receiver was sentenced to five years’ probation and 30 days of jail time – which can be served at any time over the next five years – for his involvement in a hit-and-run crash on a Dallas highway last year.
While his sentence has already been handed down, Rice is still awaiting verdict from the NFL – and ESPN’s Adam Schefter claims league officials are aiming to hand him a six-game ban.
The suspension will reportedly kick in at the start of the season, meaning he would be unavailable for the Chiefs until their game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead on October 19.
