Warrington Wolves centre Connor Wrench has announced his retirement at the age of 23.
Wrench scored a try in what proved to be his final appearance as a professional in Sunday’s defeat at Huddersfield Giants.
He came through the Wire’s academy and made his debut against Salford in September 2020, aged 18.
However, he suffered anterior cruciate ligament injuries in both 2022 and 2024 and has quit the sport, after 19 tries in 51 appearances.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision, and one I’ve been contemplating for a while, but it feels like the right step for me to make,” he told the club website., external
“Representing my hometown club has meant a huge deal to me and I want to thank all my team-mates, coaches, the staff and of course the fans for all their support over the years.
“The support I had through my injuries is something I’ll always appreciate too.”
