Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu is set for a spell on the sidelines after boss Daniel Farke confirmed the Welshman suffered a knee ligament injury against Everton.
Ampadu was on the receiving end of a late tackle from Tim Iroegbunam during his side’s 1-0 Premier League win at Elland Road on Monday night and is set to miss Leeds’ next three games.
‘It’s bad news. He will definitely be out injured until at least the international break,’ said Farke.
‘He’s a tough boy and it’s a blow for us. Hopefully he’s back on the other side of the break. It’s not ideal. We don’t need to sugarcoat it — Ethan is a big miss.’
Ampadu is now also a major doubt for Wales’s World Cup qualifier away against Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan on September 4.

Noah Okafor has signed from AC Milan for £18million and is set to make his debut
Speaking before Leeds travel to Arsenal on Saturday, Farke said new signing Noah Okafor could be in line to make his debut this weekend.
The Swiss forward has signed from AC Milan on a four-year contract in a deal worth up to £18million and trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.
‘It’s at least possible (that he plays). He doesn’t need three or four weeks to build up to fitness. Let’s see in the next few days and we will make a decision,’ said Farke.
