Eligibility criteria
The Rural Action Awards are open to constituted rural community-based organisations, including charities, not-for-profit community groups, sporting and cultural organisations, heritage groups, Parent Teacher Associations, youth groups/clubs, and social enterprises.
The awards seek to support practical, tangible, and time-bound projects where the project must be completed within 12 weeks.
Organisations must
- be a bonafide rural community organisation
- supply evidence of governing document if successful
- be based in rural Northern Ireland or the border region of Ireland
- be able to use the award within 12 weeks of receipt
- have a registered bank account in the name of the applicant organisation
Additional information
The Rural Action Awards offer rural community-based organisations in Northern Ireland and the border region of Ireland the opportunity to apply for and secure funding towards their volunteer-led community action project.
Three funding calls will run until March 2026, with four projects selected at random after each round to receive £1,000/€1,000 following verification.
The first call for applications closes on Wednesday 20 August 2025.
