  • Des Hasler’s locker room tirade caught on camera
  • Gold Coast Titans sit in last place on the NRL ladder

Gold Coast coach Des Hasler has been caught giving his players an epic spray in the sheds at Leichhardt Oval following his side’s narrow loss to the Tigers.

Cameras captured Hasler’s explosive tirade following the match as he was seen ordering some of them to get out of the showers.

Players looked on in shock as a clearly furious Hasler unleashed at some of his stars, although it is not known what he was saying.

The coach’s almighty spray came after a shocking day for the Titans, who were leading 20-16 with four minutes left in the match.

However, a late try to Jeral Skelton evened things up before Adam Doueihi slotted a field goal from 25 metres out to win it with 15 seconds left.

The result piles more pressure on Hasler, with Gold Coast now officially out of finals contention and alone in last place on the NRL ladder.

The Gold Coast were leading 20-16 with four minutes left in the match, but a late winning field goal by Tigers star Adam Doueihi (pictured) piled more pressure on the Titans coach

Speaking post-game to media, Hasler was particularly unhappy with the side’s second half.

‘We go out and bumble, we fumble, we throw balls over the sideline and get carried over the sideline,’ he said.

‘We can’t land on the bouncing ball. We miss tackles and complete nine from 15 [sets].

‘I’m really disappointed with that performance. It was pretty dumb.’

Meanwhile, finals action also looks unlikely for the Tigers, despite the victory.

They would need to go undefeated through the final seven rounds to have any hope of snapping their 14-year drought.

But another spoon now at least appears out the window, up in 12th spot and four points clear of the Titans, with a bye still in hand.

‘It’s more frustrations around where we think we could have been, where we could be, and where we are,’ Benji Marshall said.

‘It was important to get the two points today. I don’t want to say about how we got it, but we got it.

‘If I’m being honest I thought today was our worst game. We didn’t play anywhere near our standard of doing things.

‘In the first half we were looking for things that weren’t there, and it looked like our heads weren’t on the job.’

The Tigers made 14 errors and the Titans 12, while the hosts were also guilty of having their attack appear disjointed at times.

The bright spot for the Tigers was mid-season pick-up Taylan May, who scored one try and set up the team’s other two in his first NRL game in 14 months.
