Newsnight captured footage of a drone dropping a large package inside the walls HMP Wandsworth in the early hours of June 21.
The category B jail in south London houses prisoners including sex offenders and terrorists.
The government said it was taking action, with £10m being spent on anti-drone measures, but would not comment on this specific footage.
