Liam and Noel Gallagher took to the stage hand-in-hand in Manchester as Oasis played their home city for the first time in 16 years in front of a crowd of more than 80,000.

The first of five shows at Heaton Park saw the Gallagher brothers open up with Hello from their 1995 album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, before romping through a string of classics.

The 23-strong set list included fan favourites like Cigarettes And Alcohol, Supersonic and Acquiesce and anthems such as Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Live Forever.

They returned to their 1995 album for their closing song, Champagne Supernova, which brought the curtain down on the long-awaited show.
