Luka Modric could be set to join another one of Europe’s great clubs when he leaves Real Madrid later this summer.

After 13 years at the Bernabeu, Modric will depart following the upcoming Club World Cup.

The 39-year-old was given an emotional send off by Los Blancos fans following his side’s final home game of the season last month after it was announced that his contract would not be extended another year.

Modric has been linked with a move to the MLS and the Saudi Pro League while Rangers also emerged as a surprise option.

However, Serie A giants AC Milan are now reportedly leading the race for his signature.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims AC Milan are confident of securing the services of the former Ballon d’Or winner after a verbal agreement was made.
