It appears that, barring any significant change, free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be playing in the NFL this season – and it appears he’ll be inking a deal with a team that faces the Chicago Bears.
Rodgers, who played with the New York Jets last season, has yet to sign a deal with any squad for the 2025 campaign.
The Jets cut him after a poor 2024 and left Rodgers a free agent for the very first time in his career.
All indications point to the Pittsburgh Steelers being the only team with remaining interest in his services, and Rodgers may have indicated that the Steel City will be his new home.
At a recent public event in Austin, Texas, Rodgers was asked by a young fan if there was any chance that he could sign for the Chicago Bears – a team that Rodgers had plenty of experience beating.
Rodgers slyly responded: ‘No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year…a road trip…I love Chicago, though, way more than they love me! It’s been a great relationship, all one way!’

The Steelers, long believed to be the only team interested in Rodgers, does indeed play in Chicago during Week 12 of this upcoming NFL season (pictured above: coach Mike Tomlin)

A quick look at the NFL schedule shows that the Steelers will be on the road against the Bears in Week 12 of the season on November 23.
Rodgers has had 24 wins over the Bears out of 29 games in his career. If he does sign for the Steelers, he’ll attempt to make that 25-of-30.
The other option would be retirement – something Rodgers didn’t completely take off the table earlier this year.
There’s no indication when Rodgers could finally make the decision that everyone is expecting of him.
