New pilot programme to foster artistic collaboration across Northern Europe

A new opportunity for artistic exchange and collaboration is set to open for emerging artists across the Nordic region, UK, and Ireland.

The Northern European Mobility Opportunity (NEMO) pilot programme, launched by the Nordic Culture Fund in partnership with arts funding agencies from Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, aims to break down barriers to international artistic cooperation.

Targeting emerging artists

The NEMO programme is specifically aimed at artists in the early years of their careers. These practitioners face particular challenges in accessing international opportunities, and the programme seeks to invest in their growth by providing the resources needed to pursue cross-border projects.

With up to €9,000 available per project, the programme aims to build stronger artistic networks across Northern Europe and increase international mobility for young creatives.

Up to €300,000 in total funding will be available, supporting individual artists to collaborate with counterparts across the region. The Nordic Culture Fund will administer the call, and artists from the UK and Ireland are encouraged to apply for projects with Nordic partners, and vice versa. The Nordic countries involved in this programme include Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Åland Islands.

Applications opening soon

The programme will officially open for applications on 18 August 2025, with a submission deadline of 15 September 2025.

Full application details and guidance will be available on the Nordic Culture Fund’s website in June 2025.
