EXCLUSIVETom Brady, 47, set to COME OUT of retirement! Wild plan to return as quarterback revealed

47-year-old Tom Brady has been retired from football ‘for good’ for over two years, but the legendary quarterback is now plotting a stunning comeback.

On Wednesday, NFL owners unanimously passed a vote allowing the league’s players to play flag football at the 2028 LA Olympics.

And Brady, who will be the ripe old age of 50 when the games begin, wants to be the quarterback to lead Team USA to glory, a source has exclusively revealed to Daily Mail.

‘He wants a Gold medal. And what better way to remain the GOAT [greatest of all time] and return to the sport he loves, by helping his country win gold,’ an insider said.

‘He knows he would be able to help and excel in that environment and since his life is very much scheduled and has a tight regimen, so many things could fall into place for him around that time.

‘With the Olympics being in LA, he wouldn’t have to travel far. And it would culminate in one of the best birthdays ever.’

Brady’s 51st birthday will fall on August 3, 2028 – a few days after the closing ceremony on July 30.

Brady is also eligible to join the Hall of Fame in 2028. And with the induction ceremony generally taking place on the first weekend of August, it would certainly make for a memorable summer for the dad-of-three.

Brady famously U-turned on his retirement once before – in 2022 – and played one final season. It was a decision which is thought to have contributed to the demise of his marriage with now ex-wife Gisele Bundchen.

Though she has denied any suggestion she gave Brady an ultimatum to choose between her or the NFL.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner hung up his cleats for second time on February 1, 2023, insisting to his fans that there would be no further changes of heart.

And, for more than two years, the quarterback has stuck to his word – instead taking up a TV commentator role on Fox Sports worth $375million over 10 years.

But our source says he has an itch to play in the Olympics.

‘Now, granted, we are a few years removed, but nobody should ever tell Tom he can’t do something, and what a story this would be,’ the insider said.

‘Since the NFL wants to make a splash in the Olympics, they can have their own Dream Team, and who better to lead them then the Greatest of all Time!’

It’s unclear who will be a part of the Team USA flag roster in LA – though Brady would certainly have some competition for the quarterback spot.

Three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is also said to be interested in playing, while Joe Burrow has expressed interest as well.

And perhaps it wasn’t an accident when the NFL tapped Jalen Hurts to light a torch in a commercial promoting flag football at the 2028 Games.

Even Darrell Doucette, the current quarterback for Team USA’s world-champion flag team, thinks NFL stars should have to earn their spot.

After all, Olympic flag rosters will allow a maximum of just one representative from each NFL team.

Brady, of course, spent the vast majority of his career with the Patriots, where he won an incredible six Super Bowls and three MVPs, and notched 14 Pro Bowl selections.

He then bolted from New England and the strict coaching style of Bill Belichick in 2020, joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the last three years of his career.

Brady would add one final championship ring there in Super Bowl LV as Tampa Bay beat the Chiefs 31-9.

The quarterback has kept busy in his post-playing career with his Fox duties, while he’s also become a minority owner of both the NFL’s Raiders and the English Championship’s Birmingham City.

However, even with everything on his plate, don’t be surprised if he makes a return to football in 2028.
