Collections will take place one day later than usual with crews working on Saturday 31 May to complete the catch-up. All collections will be back to normal from week commencing Monday 2 June.
In some areas refuse and recycling collections take place as early as 7am and residents are asked to present their bins, boxes, bags and caddies at the kerbside by 7am.

LitterLotto ‘Bin it to win it’ – for cleaning up litter around town
LitterLotto is an exciting new initiative to help everyone easily recycle their waste using their kerbside collections – as well as clean up litter around the borough. The app also offers automatic bin day reminders if residents turn on notifications to help everyone to stay on top of their waste and recycling.
All residents need to do is download the free app and register for an account. They can then click on the’ AtHome’ feature and use their camera to scan the item that they want to dispose of. Thanks to new AI technology, the app will tell them which recycling bag or box to use, or whether it needs to go in the bin instead.
Every item correctly recycled or binned counts as an entry to an exclusive monthly prize draw, with a £100 cash prize for one lucky resident – and there is also a weekly national £1k jackpot.
LitterLotto is free to download from the Google Play and Apple App stores. Or search for ‘LitterLotto.’ More information, including FAQs, is available on the council’s website.
