Newcastle’s Carabao Cup heroes enjoyed a night out at the Premier League Darts on Thursday.

Week eight of the competition saw Luke Littler and Co arrive on Tyneside, with the teenage sensation thrashing Stephen Bunting 6-0 in the opening match of the evening.

Eleven days on from beating Liverpool at Wembley to end Newcastle’s 70-year wait for a domestic trophy, several of the club’s players attended the event.

Dan Burn and Kieran Trippier were all smiles as they watched on, while Harvey Barnes and Matt Targett also appeared to be enjoying their evening.

It has been a remarkable fortnight for Burn, who scored a bullet header in the cup final before making his England debut just five days later.

Newcastle’s players also have a trophy parade to look forward to this weekend, with thousands of fans expected to attend the party at Town Moor on Saturday afternoon.

The celebration is set to feature a live band, special guests and a screening of the cup final.

Newcastle will then return to action when they host Brentford at St James’ Park next Wednesday.

Littler was in sparkling form as he swept aside Bunting inside 10 minutes before beating Rob Cross 6-3 in his semi-final.

But Newcastle’s players were unable to inspire local hero Chris Dobey to victory against world No1 Luke Humphries.

Humphries beat Dobey 6-3 to move into the semi-finals and strengthen his grip on a top-four spot.

Humphries then saw off Nathan Aspinall in a last-leg decider to book his place in the night’s final against Littler, but he was no match for ‘The Nuke’ as he slipped to a 6-1 loss.

Littler is now eight points clear at the top of the table and well on his way to the play-offs at the O2 Arena in May.
